Buttercup
Buttercup is the only animal I chose to holdback from the first litter I ever produced which came from Rose to an aberrant Guyanese male (link needed) in 2007.
I can't pinpoint specifically what drew me to Buttercup versus the other animals in the litter I could have held back, but when I looked at her, I knew she was it. She just "had it all".
Buttercup's are beautiful bright yellow flowers that are actually a weed. But the reason I decided to name this female "Buttercup" is because even when you have a field of Buttercups, it remains easy to see the beauty in any one of them.
At the time I'm writing this, Buttercup is almost three and a half years old and about 4 feet long. She will likely not be paired up with a male for breeding purposes until the 2012-2013 season as that's about the time I expect her to fully mature. I don't know which male I'm going to use yet but I expect that her offspring should be just as beautiful and unique as her.
