My NEXt Camera

My wife really likes the quality of the pictures from my Canon 60D (a DSLR) but HATES the size and weight of it. She also has expressed her displeasure with the lack of quick focusing from her P&S as well as the lower quality pictures in low light. I'd like to get her something better, but there really aren't many options and none that would address all of her needs. Well, until now...

This blog is intended to be a permanent reference point for those who are new to Boa Constrictors and desire a natural history based introduction into two of the most important aspects of captive husbandry. I hope you enjoy it!
The common names of each boa constrictor subspecies are either often unknown, or misappropriated. This blog entry is an attempt to help end that. Read on...

The Future For The Other 5

I recently spoke with Andrew Wyatt of USARK about some of the confusion, misunderstandings, and conflicting information out there about the recent "final ruling" from the USFWS regarding the 4 species placed on the Lacey Act and also, the 5 that were omitted.
The topic of frozen rodent vendors comes up quite frequently within our community, and for good reason! The saying “you are what you eat” rings true for reptiles too!

Of the various online vendors of frozen rodents, there are a few that are more well known than others. Names such as The Mouse Factory (which is who I use), Mice Direct, Big Cheese, and Rodent Pro seem to be the largest and most well known. This blog is about my (negative) experience with Rodent Pro.

Much discussion and debate (often heated) occurs on various forums regarding people outright stating they're looking for "cheap" boas. In this industry and the legislatively heavy predicament we've found ourselves in, perception is absolutely vital to our survival. Let's take a look at what the perception of "cheap' is in regards to these animals.

The Cost To Keep A Boa For Life

I recently posted a thread about how much it would cost to keep one boa for life. It received some excellent responses as well as some verification from those who track their expenditures that the costs were "right on the money". So, I decided to archive it (with some updating/editing) here in my blog for future reference. Enjoy!
I was just helping out with a post on a forum and I created a new designation for Boa Constrictors!
By no means do I consider myself an expert in photography, in fact I’m still learning daily. But I have put in a lot of time trying to learn about photography and put those lessons to use. Here is some information on camera sensors that I thought I’d share.
